C.U.R.A. is a long-term,
residential therapeutic community for the treatment of chemical
dependency. Each individual requesting admission to the program
is asked for a minimum commitment of one year.
C.U.R.A. utilizes a carefully
structured schedule, which demands full participation every day
with the maintenance of a high degree of motivation. C.U.R.A.
has a strict code of conduct, which governs each resident's
behavior. C.U.R.A. utilizes disciplinary measures to reinforce
rules.
The facility serves both male and
female adults (18 years and older). No person, regardless of
race, color, creed, national origin, gender, sexual preference,
age, physical disability or political affiliation shall be
excluded from participation in C.U.R.A. Federal confidentiality
regulations are strictly enforced. C.U.R.A. is in compliance
with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The program is comprised of a
number of phases, each with specific goals and expectations.
Candidate Phase
No outside communication. An
individualized treatment plan is developed. A counselor is
assigned. The candidate completes a thorough orientation to the
program. Candidate is given simple work assignments.
Phase I
Each resident is allowed visits
with minor children; group outings (recreational and substance
abuse prevention services). In this phase, residents are given
increased responsibility in work assignments.
Phase II
Each resident receives full
visiting privileges; phone privileges; open participation in
outside support systems (A.A., N.A., outpatient medical
services, church participation); relationship and family
counseling and re-entry planning.
Phase III
Residents are allowed passes on
their request; obtain full-time, outside employment (assistance
through the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation). Prior to
graduation, residents arrange their own transportation and
outside living arrangements.
Aftercare
Aftercare is a voluntary process
that runs from nine to twelve months. The process provides an
extensive support network for re-entering the community. Upon
completion of the Aftercare component of the program, the
participant may petition for a public graduation ceremony. Each
graduate receives a Certificate of Completion, a C.U.R.A. ring
and a C.U.R.A. jacket.
Fees
Cost of care is entirely dependent
on an individual's ability to pay. No one is denied admission to
C.U.R.A. for inability to pay.
